The Bait-ul-Futuh Mosque is on the site of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association headquarters in Morden. our architects won a limited competition to design this scheme - Western Europe's largest Mosque. It is comprised of two prayer halls, each accommodating 1500 people, of which are both clear span spaces of 28m x 36m.
The building is clad in finely polished vitrified marble tiles and the upper prayer hall is topped with the traditional Mosque symbol - an 18m diameter dome. Its contemporary external finish of satin stainless steel identifies the Mosque as a significant local landmark.
The project was included on a list of the Best 50 Modern Religious Buildings, published by The Independent newspaper.
