Our professionals were appointed by The National Trust to assist them in the repair and refurbishment of their let estate. Four and five Hinton Hill are two examples of many properties within a national programme. The properties are a pair of semi-detached 16th Century, Grade II Listed timber framed thatched cottages.
Our professionals used Parity Software to analyse the cost benefit of various combinations of improvements, to meet Minimum Energy Efficiency Standard (MEES) regulations. The practicalities of working within the historic fabric also needed to be considered. Number four Hinton Hill had no heating other than a dual fuel burner. New electric heating on a dual tariff meter, secondary glazing, loft insulation and low energy lighting was included within the refurbishment to improve the EPC rating from a G to an E.
Our professionals obtained listed building consent and wrote a detailed specification of works to comply with this, using traditional methods and materials. We managed the procurement process and undertook the principle designer and contract administration roles.
