Date of completion.
Located on the existing convent school’s playground and commanding a wonderful view to the southwest, the new school accommodates community facilities, a hall for liturgical and everyday school use, together with a full school kitchen, as well as classrooms and specialist teaching areas.
Due to the changing needs of the religious order the existing convent buildings were redundant and will be redeveloped, partly to fund the new school.
The new school is a state-of-the-art facility, utilising natural light, natural ventilation, outdoor teaching spaces, and boasting BREEAM excellent rating. All classrooms benefit from being connected to outside teaching space, which in good weather enables teaching staff to integrate students’ learning with textile experiences of the natural world.
